Abermain is a small town in New South Wales, Australia. It is located about 8 kilometres (5 miles) east-northeast of Cessnock. The town is also close to Weston and borders the beautiful Werakata National Park.

The Abermain Post Office first opened its doors on 1 June 1904. In 1882, a scientist named Professor Sir Tannatt William Edgeworth David helped explore the area. He was looking for coal, which was very important for the region's growth. Later, in 1926, Australia's second Mine Rescue Station was built in Abermain. This station played a big role in keeping miners safe.
