Acharya Devvrat, born on January 18, 1959, is an important Indian public figure. He is currently serving as the Governor of Gujarat, a big state in India. Before becoming a governor, he was a dedicated educator.
He was also a pracharak for Arya Samaj, which is a Hindu reform movement. He even served as the principal of a Gurukul (a traditional Indian school) in Kurukshetra, Haryana. As the Governor of Gujarat, he also holds the position of Chancellor for all the state universities in Gujarat. This means he is in charge of these universities.

Early Life and Education
Acharya Devvrat was born in a place called Samalkha. At that time, Samalkha was part of East Punjab. Today, this area is in the state of Haryana, India. He is married to Darsana Devi.
Role as Governor
A Governor in India is like the head of a state. They are appointed by the President of India. The Governor makes sure the state government follows the rules and laws.
Governor of Himachal Pradesh
In August 2015, Acharya Devvrat was chosen to be the Governor of Himachal Pradesh. This is another beautiful state in India, known for its mountains. He served in this role for almost four years. His term ended on July 21, 2019. After him, Kalraj Mishra became the new Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
Governor of Gujarat
Just a month before his term ended in Himachal Pradesh, in June 2019, Acharya Devvrat was named the new Governor of Gujarat. He took over from Om Prakash Kohli. He has been serving as the Governor of Gujarat since July 22, 2019.
