Achraf Lazaar is a professional Moroccan footballer. He was born on January 22, 1992. He usually plays as a left midfielder or left back. He has played for many different clubs in Europe and also for the Morocco national team.

Club Career
Early Years in Italy
Achraf Lazaar was born in Casablanca, Morocco. When he was 11 years old, in 2003, he moved to Italy with his family. He started his football journey at the age of 15. He joined the youth team of Varese.
In 2012, Lazaar made his first appearance as a senior player for Varese. This was in Serie B, which is a professional football league in Italy. He quickly became known as a promising young player.
Playing for Palermo
In January 2014, Lazaar joined Palermo. At that time, Palermo was at the top of Serie B. He first joined them on a loan, which meant he played for them for a short time. He was meant to be a backup player.
However, Lazaar played so well that he quickly became a regular starter. Because of his great performances, Palermo decided to sign him permanently. He continued to play for Palermo in the Serie A, which is Italy's top football league, during the 2014–15 and 2015–16 seasons.
Time in England
On August 28, 2016, Lazaar moved to England. He signed a five-year contract with Newcastle United. He made his first game for Newcastle on September 20, 2016. This was in a cup match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
His first league game for Newcastle was on October 15, 2016. He came on as a substitute against Brentford. During his time at Newcastle, he also went on loan to other clubs.
Loan Spells
- On August 31, 2017, Lazaar went back to Italy. He joined Benevento on loan.
- On January 31, 2019, he moved to Sheffield Wednesday in England on loan.
- On September 2, 2019, he returned to Italy again. He joined Cosenza on loan in Serie B.
On February 4, 2021, Lazaar and Newcastle United agreed to end his contract early.
Later Club Moves
After leaving Newcastle, Lazaar signed with Watford on February 11, 2021. He played for them until the end of the 2020–21 season.
On August 26, 2021, he moved to Portugal. He signed a two-year contract with Portimonense.
Later, on February 2, 2023, he signed with Novara. This club plays in Serie C, another Italian league. He played for them until the end of the 2022–23 season.
In 2024, he joined Al-Ittifaq and then went on loan to Dubai City. As of 2025, he is playing for Preston Lions.
International Career
Achraf Lazaar was born in Morocco, so he could play for the Moroccan national team. He also gained Italian citizenship in April 2015.
He had said he would play for the first national team that showed real interest in him. His strong performances for Palermo caught the attention of the Moroccan team. They called him up for a friendly match against Mozambique on May 23, 2014. Morocco won that game 4–0, and Lazaar made his first appearance for his country. He has played 19 games for Morocco.
