History of Adelphi
Adelphi was started in 1804 by two brothers. They named the village "Adelphi" because it comes from a Greek word that means "brothers." This name shows the strong connection between the founders. Later, in 1838, Adelphi officially became an incorporated village. This meant it could have its own local government.
