Adriano Zumbo, born on November 6, 1981, is a famous Australian pastry chef, also known as a pâtissier, and a television star. He opened his first dessert shop in 2007. He became very well-known after appearing many times on the TV show MasterChef Australia. He also hosts his own baking show, Zumbo's Just Desserts, and is a judge on the Netflix series Sugar Rush. Because he's so popular, people have given him fun nicknames like "Sweet Assassin" and "Australia's Willy Wonka."

Early Life and Training
Adriano Zumbo was born in 1981. His parents, Frank and Nancy Zumbo, were from Italy. He grew up in Coonamble, a town in New South Wales, Australia. His parents owned a local supermarket. This is where Adriano developed a love for sweets and learned about business.
After finishing school in 1997, Zumbo moved to Sydney. He started training to become a pastry chef. He learned from famous chefs in Australia and France, including Ramon Morato and Pierre Hermé.
Career Highlights
Adriano Zumbo began his career by making homemade tarts, muffins, and banana bread. He sold these treats to local cafés in Sydney. Later, he started selling his baked goods at farmer's markets. In 2007, he opened his very first dessert shop in Balmain.
TV Shows and Challenges
Zumbo has appeared on almost every season of MasterChef Australia. He first appeared in season 1, setting a challenge for contestants to make a croquembouche. In 2010, he challenged them to recreate his difficult raspberry-beetroot and black olive macaron "tower of terror." After this episode aired, his shop sold 5,000 macarons in just three days!
His special vanilla V8 cake was also a challenge dish on MasterChef in 2010. This cake has eight different layers and textures of vanilla. It was created to celebrate the 85th birthday of famous chef Margaret Fulton.
In August 2016, Zumbo co-hosted a cooking show called Zumbo's Just Desserts on the Seven Network. He hosted it with Rachel Khoo and Gigi Falanga. In 2018, he became a judge on the Netflix series Sugar Rush, hosted by Hunter March. Zumbo also competed on the first season of Dessert Masters in 2023.

Zumbo is an Australian documentary television series. It followed pastry chef Adriano Zumbo and his kitchen business in Balmain, Sydney.
The show started on February 10, 2011, and had 6 episodes. It showed on SBS One.
One episode focused on 'Macaron Day,' where his kitchen made nearly 30,000 colorful macarons. Another episode showed Adriano creating his new 'Summer Collection' of desserts. He even went back to his hometown of Coonamble to help with his father's 70th birthday party.
Personal Life
In 2017, Adriano Zumbo started dating Nelly Riggio, who was a contestant on the show My Kitchen Rules. They got married on May 6, 2018. Adriano and Nelly welcomed their first child in November 2023.
