The Story of Al Nassma Chocolate
Al Nassma Chocolate was the very first company in the United Arab Emirates to make chocolate from camel milk. They officially started on October 22, 2008. It took them nearly four years to create and launch their special brand.
Delicious Camel Milk Chocolates
Al Nassma makes many yummy treats. They have 70-gram camel milk chocolate bars in different flavors. These include classic whole milk, dark chocolate (70% cocoa), and "Arabia" with special spices like cardamom and cinnamon.
Other flavors are macadamia orange and dates. They also make fun camel-shaped chocolates. The "Camel Caravan" chocolates have a creamy macadamia nut and honey filling. You can also find hollow camel figures and different kinds of pralines.
Camel milk is a traditional food in many Arab countries.
How the Chocolates Look
The 70-gram chocolate bars are wrapped in shiny gold foil. The pralines come in cool boxes that look like camel hide. Special wooden boxes from Germany hold the Camel Caravan chocolates. The camel figures are wrapped in gold and put into gift boxes.
Making the Chocolate
Al Nassma makes its own chocolates right from cocoa beans. In 2006, they built a special factory that follows Halal rules. This means the food is prepared according to Islamic law.
Where the Milk Comes From
The camel milk for the chocolates comes from the Camelicious Farm in Umm Nahad. This farm belongs to a company called Emirates Industry for Camel Milk & Products (EICMP). The farm is home to over 3,500 camels!
The camels are milked twice every day. They produce about 5,000 liters of fresh camel milk. This milk is then pasteurised at a special dairy plant. Pasteurization is a process that heats milk to kill harmful germs.
Some of the milk is bottled and sold as "Camelicious" milk. The rest of the milk is freeze-dried. This means the water is removed, making it a powder. This powder is then flown to a factory in Austria. There, it is turned into the main chocolate mass used to make the chocolates.
What's Inside the Chocolate
About 150 milliliters of fresh camel milk are used in one bar of whole milk chocolate. All the ingredients are natural. These include camel milk, sugar, cocoa beans, cocoa butter, vanilla, honey, and Arabian spices. They also use pistachios, dates, macadamia nuts, and orange zest. There are no artificial colors or extra additives.
Most of the chocolate molding and packaging happens at Al Nassma's main office in Dubai, UAE.
