The Alapahoochee River is a river about 14.4-mile-long (23.2 km) in the United States. It flows through Georgia and Florida. This river is a smaller stream that flows into the Alapaha River. From there, its waters join the Suwannee River before finally reaching the Gulf of Mexico.
The Alapahoochee River starts where two smaller streams, Grand Bay Creek and Mud Creek, meet. This spot is located between Lowndes and Echols counties in Georgia. It's about 10 miles (16 km) southeast of a city called Valdosta. The river then flows towards the southeast through Echols County. It crosses into Hamilton County, Florida, about 2 miles (3.2 km) before it meets the Alapaha River near the town of Jennings.
Sometimes, people call this river by other names, like Little River, Little Alapaha, or Grand Bay Creek.
