Aleksandr Pavlovich Dianin (Russian: Александр Павлович Дианин; 20 April 1851 – 6 December 1918) was an important Russian Empire chemist. He was born in Davydovo, Russia. Dianin studied special types of chemicals called phenols. He is famous for discovering two chemical compounds: bisphenol A and Dianin's compound.
Dianin was married to the adopted daughter of another famous chemist, Alexander Borodin. In 1887, Dianin took over Borodin's job. He became the head of the Chemistry Department at the Imperial Medical-Surgical Academy in St. Petersburg. Today, this school is called the S.M. Kirov Military Medical Academy.
