Alexander Bazzie (born on August 5, 1990) is a former professional gridiron football player from Liberia. He played as a defensive lineman. Alex Bazzie was part of teams like the BC Lions and Edmonton Eskimos in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He also played college football at Marshall University. Later, he was a member of the Indianapolis Colts, Carolina Panthers, and Arizona Cardinals in the National Football League (NFL). He also played for the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL.

Early Life and School
Alex Bazzie was born in Liberia. He later moved to Maryland in the United States. There, he went to Northwood High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. After high school, he spent a year at Fork Union Military Academy. This helped him improve his grades and get ready for college.
Playing Football Professionally
After college, Alex Bazzie tried out for the Cleveland Browns in June 2014. He was not chosen in the NFL draft that year.
Playing for the BC Lions
Alex Bazzie signed with the BC Lions on May 19, 2014. In his first season (2014), he made 43 tackles and had ten sacks in 17 games. A tackle is when a player stops an opponent with the ball. A sack is when a defensive player tackles the quarterback behind the line of scrimmage.
He continued to be an important player for the Lions for three seasons. During this time, he played in 50 games. He made 83 defensive tackles and 8 special teams tackles. He also had 29 sacks and caused 2 fumbles. A forced fumble is when a player knocks the ball out of an opponent's hands.
In January 2017, the Lions let him go. This allowed him to try and get a contract with an NFL team.
Time in the NFL
On January 9, 2017, Bazzie signed a contract with the Indianapolis Colts. However, he was released by the Colts in May 2017.
A few days later, on May 6, 2017, he signed with the Carolina Panthers. He was released by them later that month.
On June 6, 2017, Bazzie signed with the Arizona Cardinals. He was released by the Cardinals in September 2017.
Back with the BC Lions
After his time in the NFL, Alex Bazzie signed another contract with the BC Lions on September 19, 2017.
Playing for the Edmonton Eskimos
Bazzie then played for the Edmonton Eskimos for the 2018 and 2019 CFL seasons.
Time with the Toronto Argonauts
On February 11, 2020, Alex Bazzie signed with the Toronto Argonauts. However, the 2020 CFL season was canceled. This meant he did not play any games that year. His contract ended in February 2021.
Third Time with the BC Lions
On October 8, 2021, it was announced that Bazzie had signed with the BC Lions again. He played in six games. In these games, he had six defensive tackles and one sack. He became a free agent again in February 2022.
After Playing Football
In 2023, Alex Bazzie became a coach. He was the defensive line coach for the University of Charleston Golden Eagles football team.
