Alexander William Gaskarth (born 14 December 1987) is a British musician. He is best known as the lead singer, rhythm guitarist, and main songwriter for the American rock band All Time Low. He has been with the band since it started in 2003.

Early Life and Family
Alex Gaskarth was born in Harlow, Essex, England. He lived in Toot Hill until he was six years old. Then, his family moved to the United States. Alex finished high school at Dulaney High School in 2006. He has two older half-sisters, Jilan and Helen. He also had a half-brother, Tom, who passed away when Alex was 12. To remember Tom, Alex got a rose tattoo on his left hand and wrote a song called "Lullabies."
Music Career Highlights
Starting with Crew Fighters
When Alex was a teenager, he was part of a band called Crew Fighters. Soon after, he met Jack Barakat. Jack convinced him to start a new band, which became All Time Low. At first, All Time Low played cover songs by bands like Blink-182 and Green Day. Later, Zack Merrick (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Rian Dawson (drums) joined the band. They also left Crew Fighters to be part of All Time Low.
Success with All Time Low

Alex Gaskarth began playing music with Jack Barakat when they were in eighth grade. In ninth grade, Zack Merrick and Rian Dawson joined them, and they officially formed All Time Low in 2003.
The band signed with Emerald Moon Records in 2004 while still in high school. They released their first EP (a short album) called "The Three Words to Remember in Dealing with the End." In 2005, they released their first full album, The Party Scene.
In 2006, All Time Low signed with Hopeless Records. In 2007, they released the song "Dear Maria, Count Me In." This song became very popular, earning a Platinum award in 2015 and a 2x Multi-Platinum award in 2021. They also released their second album, So Wrong, It's Right, in 2007.
Their third album, Nothing Personal, came out in 2009. It reached number 4 on the Billboard 200 music chart. In 2010, the band released two live CD/DVD sets: MTV Unplugged and Straight to DVD.
In 2011, the band signed with Interscope Records and released their fourth album, Dirty Work. In 2012, they returned to Hopeless Records and released Don't Panic.
On April 7, 2015, All Time Low released their sixth album, Future Hearts. This album was a big hit, reaching number 2 on the Billboard Hot 200 Albums Chart in the U.S. and number 1 in the U.K. In 2016, they released Straight to DVD 2: Past Present and Future Hearts. This was a follow-up to their first documentary, showing the band's journey over four years.
In 2017, the band released a new song called "Dirty Laundry." They also shared that they had signed with Fueled by Ramen a year earlier. Their seventh album, Last Young Renegade, came out on June 2, 2017. In 2018, they released two new songs, Everything Is Fine and Birthday.
In 2023, All Time Low released the song "Modern Love" from their album Tell Me I'm Alive.
Alex Gaskarth has also written songs for other bands, including 5 Seconds of Summer, McBusted, and Simple Plan. From 2013 to 2015, he hosted a podcast called Full Frontal with his bandmate Jack Barakat. This podcast later became Crash Test Live in 2020 and moved to Twitch (service) for live video streaming. Alex also co-hosted the Alternative Press Music Awards in 2015 and 2016 with Jack Barakat.
Simple Creatures Project
On January 24, 2019, Alex Gaskarth announced a new music group called Simple Creatures. He formed this group with Mark Hoppus from the band Blink-182. They released a song called "Strange Love." This project has been on a break since 2020.
Musical Instruments
From 2004 to 2008, Alex Gaskarth often used Gibson SG-X guitars. Around 2013, he started using custom-made Paul Reed Smith guitars, especially the Mira model. He later mentioned that it was hard to find replacement parts for these guitars when he was touring overseas.
Currently, Alex uses Fender guitars, particularly the Mustang 90 models. He has also been seen using Telecasters and some of Fender's acoustic guitars. Sometimes, he also uses Gibson electric guitars.

Personal Life
Alex Gaskarth married his longtime girlfriend, Lisa Ruocco, on April 9, 2016.
