Alex Lanipekun (born April 7, 1981) is a British actor. He is known for his roles in TV shows like Spooks, Riviera, The Rising, and Domina. He has also appeared in movies and voiced characters in popular video games.

Early Life and Education
Alex Lanipekun was born in London, England. His father is from Nigeria, and his mother has both Italian and English family roots.
He attended Christ's Hospital School in Horsham, West Sussex. He then went to Westminster College. Alex studied many subjects, including English, Psychology, History, Drama, and Religious Studies.
After college, he studied Anthropology at University College London. Later, he attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). This is a famous school for actors.
Starting His Career
When Alex was thirteen, he joined the National Youth Music Theatre. He played a character called Leroy The Boxer in a musical version of the film Bugsy Malone.
At seventeen, he joined the National Youth Theatre. This is when he started thinking seriously about becoming an actor.
Music and Writing
Alex was also part of a Hip-Hop music group called 'ONE'. The group had 12 MCs and producers. They released their only album, Onederful World, in 2001. ONE was even nominated for a MOBO Award. Their music was played on major British radio stations.
At the same time, Alex worked as a freelance journalist. He wrote reviews and interviewed artists for a music website and magazine. He also became the Entertainment Editor for an online magazine called 'ICON'.
Acting on Stage
In 2007, Alex graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He won a special award called the Carleton Hobbs Award. This allowed him to join the BBC Radio Drama team.
In 2008, Alex performed in a play called Wig Out! at the Royal Court Theatre. In 2009, he acted in Dimetos at the Donmar Warehouse. He performed alongside famous actors like Jonathan Pryce.
In 2010, Alex played Laertes in a production of Hamlet at the Royal National Theatre. The play was very popular and sold out. Critics praised the show and Alex's performance. It was even nominated for important awards.
In 2013, Alex returned to the stage in a play called Amygdala. A reviewer from The Times newspaper said he was "magnetic and mercurial."

Early TV Roles
From 2007 to 2008, he was a regular cast member in the BBC drama Spooks. He played Ben Kaplan, a journalist who also worked as a spy.
In 2010, he appeared in two episodes of the show Being Human.
In 2012, Alex played Eddie in the BBC Three show Way To Go. In 2013, he played Steve in the Comedy Central show Big Bad World. This show broke viewing records for Comedy Central.
Major TV Series
From 2014 to 2015, Alex played Hank Wonham in seasons 4 and 5 of Homeland. He also appeared in 24: Live Another Day and The Missing in 2014.
In 2018, Alex was part of the cast for Troy: Fall of a City. This show told the epic story of Homer's Iliad. It was produced by Netflix and the BBC.
In 2019, he joined the Sky Atlantic show Riviera for its second season. He played Raafi Al-Qadar. This show was very successful for Sky.
From 2021 to 2023, he played Tycho in the Sky Atlantic series Domina. He also joined the cast of The Rising in 2022.

Alex has also acted in several films. In 2010, he was in Clash of the Titans. In 2011, he appeared in Blitz.

Alex Lanipekun has lent his voice to popular video games.
In 2017, he voiced the character Nil in the PlayStation video game Horizon Zero Dawn. Nil is a character who asks for help to defeat bandits. Alex returned to voice Nil in the sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, which came out in 2022.
In 2023, Alex played the role of Hugo Kupka in Final Fantasy XVI. This game was developed by Square Enix.
