Alexander George Lynn (born September 17, 1993) is a British racing driver from Great Dunmow, England. He is currently a top driver in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). He drives the No. 12 Cadillac V-Series.R for Jota Sport. Alex has won the 2017 12 Hours of Sebring race and was a champion in the GP3 Series and European Le Mans Series.

Alex Lynn's Early Racing Career
Alex Lynn grew up in Great Dunmow, Essex. He started his racing journey at a young age.
Karting Adventures
Alex began karting when he was eleven years old. He quickly became good at it. In 2008, after four years in different karting classes, he finished sixth in the British KF2 championship.
Racing in Formula Renault
In 2009, Alex moved into single-seater racing cars. He joined Fortec Motorsport for the Formula Renault UK Winter Cup. He finished tenth in his first series. In 2010, he got his first podium finish at Brands Hatch.
Alex continued with Fortec and became champion in both the 2010 Formula Renault UK Winter Cup and the 2011 main series. He won three races in the Winter Cup and twelve races in the main series. He also raced in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, where his best result was second place.
Racing in New Zealand: Toyota Racing Series
Between 2010 and 2011, Alex raced in the Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand. He won a race at Teretonga Park and finished ninth overall.
He returned to the series in 2013. This time, he finished second overall, making him the highest-placed international driver. He achieved four pole positions, three race wins, and nine podium finishes.
Success in Formula Three
In 2012, Alex raced in the British Formula 3 Championship with Fortec Motorsports. He won a race at Silverstone and had five podium finishes, ending the season in fourth place. He also got two podiums in the Formula 3 Euro Series.
In November 2012, Alex competed in the Macau Grand Prix. He was the first rookie since 2006 to get pole position for the qualification race. He finished third in the main race, making him the top rookie driver.
In 2013, Alex moved to Prema Powerteam for the FIA European F3 Championship. He finished third overall and was the highest-placed rookie. He won three races, had 14 podiums, and earned five pole positions.
In November 2013, Alex returned to Macau and won the Grand Prix. He became the first British driver to win the event since 2007.
Winning the GP3 Series Championship

In 2014, Alex joined Carlin Motorsport for the GP3 Series. He was part of the Red Bull Junior Team. He won his very first race in the series at Circuit de Catalunya. He also won at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
He continued to perform well, getting second and third places in Germany. He extended his lead in the championship and eventually won the title in the final race in Abu Dhabi.
Racing in the GP2 Series
After winning the GP3 Series, Alex moved up to the GP2 Series in 2015 with DAMS. He won two races, one at Barcelona and another at the Hungaroring. He finished sixth in the championship.
He stayed with DAMS for the 2016 season and won two more sprint races at Barcelona and Hockenheim. He finished sixth in the standings again before leaving the series.
Formula One Experience
After his GP3 title win, Alex got to test drive for the Lotus F1 team. In January 2015, he became a development driver for the Williams F1 team. This meant he helped the team test and improve their cars.

Formula E is a racing series where cars are powered only by electricity.
First Races in Formula E (2016–17)
In 2016, Alex became a reserve driver for DS Virgin Racing. He made his first race appearance in July 2017 at the New York City ePrix. He even got pole position in his first race, but unfortunately, he had to retire from both New York races.
Full-Time Formula E Driver (2017–18)
In 2017, Alex signed a deal to race full-time for DS Virgin Racing in the 2017–18 Formula E Championship. He had good qualifying performances and scored points in five races, finishing 16th overall.
Moving to Jaguar and Mahindra (2018–20)
After leaving Virgin, Alex joined Jaguar Racing in March 2019 for the second half of the 2018–19 Formula E Championship. He scored points in two races.
In the 2019–20 Formula E Championship, Alex became the test and reserve driver for Mahindra Racing. He later took over as a full-time driver mid-season. He scored points three times and finished 17th in the standings.
First Formula E Win (2020–21)
Alex continued with Mahindra Racing for the 2020–21 Formula E World Championship. He had a big crash in Saudi Arabia but was not seriously hurt. He got his first podium finish in Valencia and another in London. He then won his first Formula E race at his home event in London. He finished the season 12th overall with 78 points. After this season, he left Formula E.
Racing in Hypercar Category
Joining Cadillac and Le Mans Podium (2023)
In 2023, Alex moved to the Le Mans Hypercar category for the WEC season. He drove a Cadillac V-Series.R with teammates Earl Bamber and Richard Westbrook.
He also raced in the IMSA SportsCar Championship in the new GTP class. At the 2023 24 Hours of Daytona, his team finished fourth.
At the 2023 1000 Miles of Sebring, Alex's Cadillac team finished fourth, just missing a podium. They continued to show strong performance, finishing fourth again at the 2023 6 Hours of Portimão.
At the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the team secured another top-five finish. Alex was part of an exciting battle for a podium spot.
Alex achieved his first overall podium at the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 2023. His #2 Cadillac finished third. He said he was "super happy" to bring Cadillac back to the Le Mans podium. To honor racing legend Derek Bell, Alex wore a special tribute helmet at Le Mans.
The #2 Cadillac started sixth at Le Mans and managed to avoid problems in the changing weather. Alex kept the car in the top five during his stints. The team finished a lap behind the winning Ferrari, securing Cadillac's first overall podium at Le Mans.
Later in 2023, the team finished tenth at the 6 Hours of Monza and tenth again at the 6 Hours of Fuji. At the final race in Bahrain, Alex qualified third, showing great speed. However, a penalty early in the race meant they finished eleventh.
Alex finished the 2023 season fifth in the points standings. His #2 Cadillac was the highest-scoring LMDh car in the Hypercar class.
Second Season in Hypercar (2024)
Alex Lynn continued to race the #2 Cadillac in the 2024 WEC season with his teammate Earl Bamber. They competed in six-hour races on their own, with an extra driver joining for longer races like Le Mans.
