In 2005, Azhar Usman explained the group's name. He said "Allah" is simply the Arabic word for God. So, "Allah Made Me Funny" means "God Made Me Funny." It was a fun way to connect with their audience. Their shows were inspired by Spike Lee's movie The Original Kings of Comedy.
