The Alliance Party's Story
How the Party Started
The Alliance Party officially began on October 14, 2018. By early 2019, some other political groups, like the American Party of South Carolina and the Independence Party of Minnesota, decided to join or work with the Alliance Party. This helped the Alliance Party become recognized in more states, like Mississippi.
Presidential Elections
The 2020 Election
In April 2020, the Alliance Party chose businessman Rocky De La Fuente to run for president and historian Darcy Richardson for vice president. They were picked during a meeting held online using Zoom. Other parties, like the Reform Party and the Natural Law Party of Michigan, also supported De La Fuente and Richardson.
In the 2020 presidential election, De La Fuente and Richardson received over 88,000 votes. After this election, two more parties, the American Delta Party and the Independence Party of New York, joined the Alliance Party. However, the Independence Party of New York later left the Alliance Party in 2021.
The 2024 Election
For the 2024 presidential election, the Alliance Party of South Carolina nominated Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. This meant his name could appear on the ballot in South Carolina. However, Kennedy later stopped his campaign and supported another candidate, Donald Trump. He also joined Trump's team that helps prepare for a new presidency.
What the Alliance Party Believes In
The Alliance Party has a set of ideas they want to achieve. They focus on important issues like reducing violence, protecting the environment, helping people improve their lives, improving education for children, and changing how the American political system works.
Healthcare for Everyone
The Alliance Party believes that everyone should have access to medical care when they need it. This includes visits to the doctor, specialist care, mental health support, and emergency services. They also want to make sure pregnant people receive care before and after their babies are born. The party also supports creating a special team to help protect public health during things like pandemics and ensuring older people get the care they need.
Making Communities Safer
To reduce crime, the Alliance Party wants to make it harder for people to get firearms easily. They suggest doing background checks for everyone who buys a firearm and closing any gaps in current rules. They also want to make sure information about firearms is shared quickly between government groups. The party supports teaching people about firearm safety, banning large magazines, and stopping changes that make firearms more dangerous. They also want to create a national "red-flag law" to temporarily remove firearms from people who might be a danger to themselves or others. Improving mental health support is also a key part of their plan to make communities safer.
Protecting Our Planet
The Alliance Party's plan for the environment includes slowly moving away from using fossil fuels like oil and gas. They want to set rules for how much pollution businesses can release. They also aim to protect natural resources, help communities become more environmentally friendly, and replace old lead pipes that can harm drinking water.
Fairer Income for All
To help with income differences, the Alliance Party suggests making company taxes fair compared to other countries. They want a simple tax for individuals and a special tax on very large amounts of money or property left after someone passes away. They also want to make the tax rules easier to understand. The party supports raising the minimum wage, giving everyone a basic income, and changing Social Security so that more money is collected from higher earners to help everyone.
Improving Elections
The Alliance Party wants to make elections fairer and easier for people to vote. They support allowing people to register to vote on the same day they cast their ballot. They also like Ranked Choice Voting, where you can rank candidates in order of your preference. The party wants to overturn a court decision called Citizens United v. FEC, which allowed more money into politics. They also want to make sure elections are honest, require politicians to share their tax information, limit how long politicians can stay in office, and allow people to remove politicians from office through a special vote called a recall.
