Alma is a small town in South Australia. It is located about halfway between the Wakefield River to the north and the River Light to the south. The town, along with nearby areas like Alma South and Alma Plains, was named after the cadastral Hundred of Alma. This area, in turn, got its name from the Battle of the Alma. This battle was an important victory for allied forces during the Crimean War.

Alma is located about 74 kilometers (46 miles) from Adelaide, a major city in South Australia. The town covers an area of about 102.786 square kilometers (39.6 square miles). Around 75 people live in Alma.
