Alpine is a small village in the beautiful Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia. It's part of the Wingecarribee Shire. You can find it north-east of Aylmerton and south of Yerrinbool.
A major train track, the Main Southern Line, goes right through Alpine. Also, the important Hume Highway runs along its western edge. An older road, the Old South Road, cuts through the middle. This road separates the farming areas from a big, forested region called the Upper Nepean Catchment Area.
How Many People Live Here?
Every few years, Australia counts how many people live in different places. This is called a census.
- In 2021, the census showed that 141 people lived in Alpine.
- Before that, in 2016, there were 54 people living there.
