Aylmerton (/ˈeɪlməˌtɪn/) is a small village in New South Wales, Australia. It is located in the Southern Highlands region. You can find Aylmerton north-east of Mittagong.
The village is part of the Wingecarribee Shire. Aylmerton mainly has houses, many of which are on farms. There is also a fire station in the village. Interestingly, there is another place called Aylmerton in Norfolk, England.

Getting Around Aylmerton
Aylmerton is located between two important routes. The Hume Highway is on its northwest side. This highway is a major road connecting Sydney and Melbourne.
On the southeast side of Aylmerton is the Main South railway line. This railway is a key train route also linking Sydney and Melbourne.
Aylmerton's Old Train Station
Aylmerton used to have its own train station. The Aylmerton railway station opened in 1919. It was part of a project to add a second railway line between Picton and Mittagong.
However, the station closed down in 1975. Now, trains just pass through Aylmerton without stopping.
Local Businesses
Near where the old train station used to be, there is a small area with businesses. This area is actually part of the nearby place called Braemar.
You can find a few industrial buildings here. There is also a large Bunnings Hardware Store in this industrial zone.
