Alta Vista is a cool place to live in the big city of San Diego. It's known for its community spirit.
Where is Alta Vista?
This neighborhood is in the southeastern part of San Diego. It shares its borders with a few other interesting places. To the west, you'll find National City. To the east, it's next to Bay Terraces. And to the north, you'll find the neighborhoods of Encanto and Valencia Park.
Who Lives in Alta Vista?
Alta Vista has been home to many different people over the years. A large number of Filipino families moved to this area. This happened especially from the 1960s to the 1990s. Many of them were joining the United States Navy.
They chose Alta Vista and nearby neighborhoods like Bay Terraces, Paradise Hills, Shelltown, Skyline Hills, and Valencia Park. Why? Because the homes were more affordable. Plus, these neighborhoods were close to the Naval Base San Diego, which was great for Navy families. This has made Alta Vista a vibrant and diverse community.
