Early Life and High School Football
Alvin Bailey grew up in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He went to Broken Arrow Senior High School. There, he was a key player on the offensive line for three years. Experts saw him as a promising player. He received a scholarship to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks. He chose Arkansas over other big schools like Nebraska and Kansas State.
College Football Career
Bailey started his college football journey in 2009. He spent that year as a "redshirt" player, meaning he practiced with the team but didn't play in games. This allowed him to gain experience.
Playing for the Arkansas Razorbacks
In 2010, Bailey became a starter for the Razorbacks. He played in all 13 games that season. The Arkansas offensive line was special because they were the only team in their conference to have the same starting players in every game. In 2011, his second year playing, he was named to the Second-team All-SEC. This means he was one of the best players in the Southeastern Conference. He continued to start in all 12 games during his third year.
Moving to the NFL
In December 2012, Bailey decided to leave college early. He chose to enter the 2013 NFL draft instead of playing his final year. He then began preparing for the NFL Combine. This is where college players show off their skills to NFL teams.
Professional Football Journey
Even though some thought he would be picked in the third or fourth round, Alvin Bailey was not chosen in the 2013 NFL Draft. However, this didn't stop him from reaching the NFL.
