Ambléon is a commune in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in the Ain department in the east of France. In 2009, 120 people lived in the commune. The inhabitants are the Ambléonais. The local economy is mostly based around agriculture and wine. The most important monuments in the commune are a 13th-century chapel and two private castles from the 15th and 16th centuries. Famous people from Ambléon include Théodore Chavanton, author of L'Oasis perdue (1945). He was a school teacher in the commune.
