Amol Bose (born Amalendu Bose; 1943–23 January 2012) was a famous actor from Bangladesh. He performed in plays, on TV, in movies, and on the radio. He started his acting journey on stage in 1963. His very first movie was Raja Sannasi in 1966.

Early Life
Amol Bose was born in 1943 in Boalmari, Faridpur, which is in Bangladesh. He began acting in the early 1960s. He performed in plays, movies, TV shows, and radio programs. Most of his acting career was spent in Dhaka. He was married to Sati Bose, and they had a daughter named Mandira Bose. Before becoming a full-time actor, he worked as a senior officer at a large company that made jute products. He retired from that job in 1995.
Amol Bose's Acting Career
When Amol Bose was in seventh grade, he acted in a school play. This experience made him very interested in acting. Later, he joined a professional acting group called 'Milon Shangha' in Boalmari, Faridpur.
Acting in Theater
Amol Bose started his theater career in Dhaka in 1963. He was both an actor and a director for plays. A government minister from that time even gave him a gold medal for his amazing performance in a play. The plays he directed were very popular, both in Bangladesh and in other countries. For example, over 25,000 people watched his plays Siraj-ud-Daulah and Roopban when they were shown in London.
Acting in Movies
Amol Bose's first movie role was in Raja Sanyashi in 1966. He acted in more than 400 movies during his career! He also directed a film called Keno Emon Hoy in the early 1960s. Some of the many movies he appeared in include Abichar, Neel Akasher Nichey, Sonali Akash, and Hothat Brishti. He won a special award called the National Film Awards (Bangladesh) for his work in the movie Aajker Protibad.
Acting on TV
Amol Bose also acted in many TV plays on the Bangladesh Television network. He started his TV career in 1964. His regular comedy skit called "Nana-Nati" on the TV show Ittyadi was very popular with viewers. He appeared in many TV dramas over his 38 years in television.

Awards and Recognition
Amol Bose won the National Film Awards for 'best co-artist' (meaning best supporting actor) for his role in the film Ajker Protibad. This movie was directed by Chashi Nazrul Islam.
Death
Amol Bose passed away on January 23, 2012, at the age of 69. He died from a heart attack at Apollo Hospitals in Dhaka.
