Amyr Klink (born September 25, 1955) is a famous Brazilian explorer, sailor, and writer. He is known for his amazing solo journeys across oceans and around the world. One of his most famous trips was sailing alone around the entire Antarctic continent. He completed this incredible journey in just 88 days, between 1998 and 1999.

Exploring the World: Amyr Klink's Journeys
First to Row the South Atlantic
Amyr Klink made history as the first person to row across the South Atlantic Ocean. He started his journey from Lüderitz, Namibia, on June 10, 1984. After 100 days at sea, he arrived in Camaçari, Brazil, on September 18, 1984. He wrote a book about this incredible adventure called 100 Days Between Sea and Sky. Disney is even planning to make a movie based on his journey!
Sailing from Pole to Pole
Klink has written seven books about his many voyages. One of them, Between Two Poles, tells the story of his trip from Antarctica to the Arctic Pole. This amazing journey started in 1989 and lasted for 642 days. For this trip, Klink helped build a special polar ship. He named it Paratii, after the town of Paraty in Brazil.
Solo Trip Around Antarctica
In 1999, Amyr Klink completed another incredible feat. He sailed alone around the continent of Antarctica. This solo trip took him 88 days. He was the first person to take the shortest and most dangerous route around Antarctica by himself.
Exploring the Arctic Circle
In 2002, Klink began an exciting new project called "A Trip to China." This project involved a journey around the world using a sea path that had never been explored before: the Arctic Circle. The first part of this trip was successfully completed between January 30 and April 6, 2002. Later, Klink and his crew left the Antarctic Circle. They visited Margarida Bay in the Bellingshausen Sea, which is in the far south of the Antarctic Peninsula. From there, their ship stopped in South Georgia before returning to Brazil.
Amyr Klink's Personal Life
Amyr Klink was born in Brazil. His father was from Lebanon, and his mother was from Sweden. When he was two years old, his family moved to Paraty, a town in Brazil. Amyr Klink is also a member of the Royal Geographical Society, a famous group for explorers.
He married Marina Bandeira in 1996. They have three daughters. In late 2021, one of his daughters, Tamara, followed in her father's footsteps. She completed a solo sail across the Atlantic Ocean. She had joined her father on many expeditions before her own solo adventure.
