Anna Lovisa Johnsson, known as Ana Johnsson, is a singer from Sweden. She was born on October 4, 1977. Many people know her for her song "We Are". This song was a big hit from the movie Spider-Man 2.
Ana got her start on a TV show called Popstars in Sweden. After the show, she joined a band named Excellence. They made one album. But Ana soon left to start her own music career. Her first solo album, Cuz I Can, came out in 2004 in Sweden. Later that year, she released an international album called The Way I Am. Her second album, Little Angel, was released in 2006. Since then, she has taken a break from music.

Ana's Music Journey
Starting Out: 1999–2002
Ana Johnsson showed her singing talent when she was a teenager. She moved to Karlstad and sang in cover bands. These bands were called @groove and Soulcream. Her brother Petter played the drums in these bands. They played songs by artists like Jamiroquai and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Ana became famous after appearing on the first season of the TV show Popstars. She made it to the final round. After the show, she joined an R&B girl group called Excellence. The group had five songs that made it into the top 10 in Sweden. They also sold many albums and had a successful tour. Ana decided to leave the band because their music style wasn't what she wanted to do. Excellence continued for a short time as a four-person group. They even recorded the official Swedish song for the 2002 Winter Olympics. The group broke up soon after.
Solo Success: 2002–2005
After leaving Excellence, Ana started her solo career. She chose 'Ana' as her stage name. She wanted to keep her personal life separate from her music life. Also, her real name "Anna" is very common. In 2003, she released her first solo song, "The Way I Am". It became popular on the radio in Sweden and Germany.
Her first solo album, Cuz I Can, came out in 2004. Other songs from this album included "Life" and "Cuz I Can". This album was only released in Sweden.
Ana was asked to contribute a song to the Spider-Man 2 (soundtrack) movie soundtrack. Her song "We Are" was the first song released from the soundtrack. It became a huge hit around the world. It reached the top 10 in many countries, like the UK, Germany, and Japan.
Her second solo album, The Way I Am, was released internationally. It included songs from Cuz I Can plus several new ones. This album did very well, charting high in almost 20 countries. Over 500,000 copies of the album were sold. In Japan, her album sold more than 100,000 copies. Other songs released from this album included "Don't Cry for Pain" and "Coz I Can". In 2005, "Coz I Can" became the official song for a German car racing series.
In 2005, Ana won awards at the NRJ Music Awards. She won "Best Swedish Female" and "Best Swedish Song". She also won the 2005 Rockbjörnen award for "Best Newcomer". She hosted the NRJ Radio Awards in 2006.
Little Angel Album: 2006–2007
Ana's second album, Little Angel, was released in Sweden on October 18, 2006. Two songs from the album, "Days of Summer" and "Exception", became popular singles in Sweden.
The song "Exception" was used as the theme song for a Swedish thriller movie called Exit. Ana also recorded a song called "Fate" with the Finnish rock band Bleak. This song was the main theme for a Finnish-Chinese movie called Jadesoturi (Jade Warrior).
In 2007, the song "Catch Me If You Can" was chosen as the official song for the FIS 2007 Alpine World Ski Championships in Sweden.
Little Angel was released in Japan in 2007. It included two extra songs. The album did well in Japan, selling over 20,500 copies.
Later Years: 2008–Present
In 2008, Ana Johnsson became the face of a company called Invercote!. She performed live for them. An EP (a short album) was also made with her songs "We Are", "Break Through Time", and "Catch Me If You Can".
In 2012, Ana mentioned that she would release new music, but didn't say when. Plans for a new album were put on hold because of things happening in her personal life. Since then, her music career has been on pause.

Ana's Personal Life
In 2009, Ana Johnsson said she would move to the United States. She wanted to take a break and write new songs. She lived in San Diego, California, from 2009 to 2010. After that, she moved back to Stockholm, Sweden, where she lives now. Ana is a mom to three boys. Her first son was born in 2011, her second in 2013, and her third in 2020.
