Anais Granofsky (born May 14, 1973) is a talented actress, writer, and director. She was born in the United States but is also Canadian. Many people know her best for playing the character Lucy Fernandez in the popular Degrassi TV shows.
Anais was a main character in Degrassi Junior High (from 1987 to 1989) and Degrassi High (from 1989 to 1991). She also returned to play Lucy in a few episodes of Degrassi: The Next Generation between 2001 and 2002.

Her Early Life
Anais Granofsky was born in Springfield, Ohio. Her mother is African American, and her father is Canadian. Her father's family has a interesting history. His great-grandparents were Jewish and came from Russia and Poland. They moved to Romania in 1920 and then to Toronto, Canada, in 1927. Anais's paternal grandfather is a well-known businessman named Phil Granovsky.
Starting Her Acting Journey
Anais began acting when she was a child in 1985. Her first role was Sophie of the Mighty Mites on a show called "Owl TV". After that, she joined the cast of the Canadian children's TV series The Kids of Degrassi Street. This was her first step into the world of Degrassi.
Becoming a Degrassi Star
From 1987 to 1991, Anais played Lucy Fernandez in both Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High. Lucy was a very important character in these shows. Anais also appeared in the TV movie School's Out in 1992, which was the series finale.
After her time on Degrassi, Anais made guest appearances in other TV shows. These included Counterstrike, Forever Knight, and Goosebumps.
Beyond Degrassi: New Roles
After finishing her work on the original Degrassi series, Anais moved to New York. She went to film school there to learn more about making movies. Later, she returned to Toronto and continued acting in films and TV shows for many years.
In 1997, she co-starred in a series called Fast Track. She also had recurring roles, meaning she appeared in several episodes, on shows like La Femme Nikita and Soul Food.
