Anderson Cleophas Cummins was born on May 7, 1966. He is a former international cricket player from Barbados. He played for two different teams: the West Indies and the Canada. Anderson Cummins was mainly a fast-medium bowler. He played 5 Test matches and 63 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for the West Indies. This was between 1991 and 1995. Later, he played 13 ODIs for Canada in 2007.

Playing for the West Indies
Anderson Cummins first became known playing for the Barbados team. Many people thought he would play his first Test match for the West Indies in 1992. This match was against South Africa in Barbados. However, the team chose Kenny Benjamin instead. Because Cummins was a local favorite, many fans did not go to the match to show their disappointment.
Cummins finally played his first Test match for the West Indies in 1993. This was against Australia. After that, he played only four more Test matches. His career in One Day Internationals (ODIs) was more successful. He played in 63 ODIs for the West Indies from 1991 to 1995. This included 6 games in the 1992 Cricket World Cup. In that tournament, Cummins took 12 wickets. This was the most wickets for the West Indies team.
Playing in England
Anderson Cummins also played county cricket in England. He spent two years playing for Durham as an overseas player. This was in 1993 and 1994.
Playing for Canada
Cummins stopped playing top-level cricket in 1996. He later moved to Canada. There, he played for the Cavaliers team in a local league. After a long time away from international cricket, Cummins made a surprising return. At 40 years old, he was chosen for the Canadian squad in January 2007. This was for an ODI series against Kenya and Scotland.
He played his first game for Canada against Scotland on January 18. In that game, he took Fraser Watts as his first ODI wicket for his new team. Cummins was also picked for the Canadian team for the 2007 Cricket World Cup. He played in the match against Kenya. This made him only the second player ever to play in a World Cup for two different countries. The first was Kepler Wessels, who played for Australia and South Africa. Cummins finished his ODI career with 91 wickets.
He announced he was retiring after the 2007 World Cup. However, Cummins continued to work with Cricket Canada. He became a coach for their Under-19 team. He helped them get ready for the 2012 U-19 World Cup.
Other Work and Life
Anderson Cummins also went to college. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of the West Indies. While living in Canada, he worked as a lead webmaster at Canoe Inc. He also held different manager roles at Air Miles Canada. In 2009, he started his own business called Anderson Cummins Consultancy Inc.
Anderson Cummins is married to Shivanthi Cummins. She is related to a former Sri Lankan cricketer, Rumesh Ratnayake. They have three sons named Isaiah, Denzel, and Anderson Jnr.
