Andre Fluellen (born March 7, 1985) is a former American professional football player. He was a defensive tackle, a position where players try to stop the other team's offense. Andre played college football for Florida State. He was chosen by the Detroit Lions in the 2008 NFL draft.

Early Life and High School Football

Andre Fluellen grew up in Cartersville, Georgia. He went to Cartersville High School. There, he played on both the offensive and defensive lines for his school's football team.

As a junior, Andre made 88 tackles. He also had 10 sacks, which means he tackled the opposing quarterback 10 times. He forced six fumbles and scored two touchdowns.

In his senior year, he continued to play well. He had 93 tackles and 11 sacks. Experts thought he was a promising player. After visiting several colleges, Andre decided to play for Florida State.

College Football Journey

Andre started his college career at Florida State in 2003. He spent his first year as a "redshirt" player. This means he practiced with the team but did not play in games. This allowed him to train and get stronger.

In 2004, Andre played in all 12 games. He was a backup player and made six tackles. He also broke up two passes.

For his second year, Andre became a starting defensive tackle. He made 26 tackles that season. He was one of the best defensive linemen on his team. He also hurried the quarterback many times.
