Club Career Highlights
Andreas Cornelius has played for several football clubs throughout his career. He is well-known for his strong presence as a striker.
Starting at F.C. Copenhagen
Cornelius first joined the main team of FC Copenhagen for training in 2011 and 2012. He played his very first Superliga match on April 9, 2012. He came in as a substitute for another player.
In May 2012, it was announced that Cornelius would officially join the first team. He quickly scored his first goal for Copenhagen in the first game of the 2012–13 season. He also scored important goals in the Europa League.
Cornelius was even named "Player of the Month" in the Danish Superliga in October 2012. He helped Copenhagen win the league title that season. Even though he only played one full season, he became very popular with fans. His name and number on official team shirts were the most popular!
Moving to Cardiff City
On June 27, 2013, Cardiff City in the UK announced they had signed Cornelius. This was a record-breaking fee for the club. He signed a five-year deal and was excited about the new opportunity.
He played his first friendly game for Cardiff and even scored a goal. However, he got a minor ankle injury during training soon after. This meant he missed Cardiff's first-ever Premier League game.
Cornelius made his official debut for Cardiff on August 25 against Manchester City. He came on as a substitute at the end of the game. A few days later, he started his first competitive match in a cup game. Sadly, he hurt his ankle again and had to leave the game early. This injury kept him out of action for three months.
Returning to F.C. Copenhagen
On January 31, 2014, Cornelius moved back to F.C. Copenhagen. Cardiff City said they lost most of the money they paid for him. He made a fantastic return, scoring three goals in his first friendly game back.
In his first official game after returning, he scored a goal with a header. He finished that half-season with 5 goals in 13 games. In April 2015, he suffered another serious ankle injury.
Playing for Atalanta
On May 2, 2017, Cornelius joined Serie A team Atalanta in Italy. He played for them for a season.
Loan to Bordeaux
In August 2018, Cornelius went on loan to Ligue 1 team FC Girondins de Bordeaux in France for a season.
Time at Parma
On July 18, 2019, Cornelius joined Serie A club Parma on a two-year loan. He later signed a permanent deal with them. In October 2019, he scored three goals in just eight minutes in a game against Genoa. This is called a "hat-trick." He scored another hat-trick against Genoa later that season.
Playing for Trabzonspor
On August 8, 2021, Cornelius moved to Süper Lig team Trabzonspor in Turkey. On April 30, 2022, his team Trabzonspor won the Turkish league title. This was their first title in 38 years!
Third Return to Copenhagen
On August 31, 2022, Cornelius returned to his old club F.C. Copenhagen for the third time. He signed a deal to stay with them until June 2027.
International Career

In June 2021, he was part of the national team for the 2020 UEFA Euro tournament. Denmark did very well, reaching the semi-finals. On November 7, 2022, he was again selected for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
