History of Angel Fire Resort

The land where Angel Fire Resort now stands was once used for grazing cattle. In 1966, a family named LeBus decided to turn this area into a resort. This was the start of Angel Fire Resort as we know it today.

The Village of Angel Fire

Remembering Veterans

North of the resort, you can find the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. This special place was started by the family of David Westphall. He was a Marine who sadly passed away during the Vietnam War in 1968. The memorial helps everyone remember and honor those who served. Angel Fire is also part of a beautiful drive called the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway.

Changes in Ownership

Over the years, Angel Fire Resort has had different owners. In 1984, a person named Dan R. Lasater bought the resort. He owned it for a few years. Later, in 1994, the resort faced some financial challenges. By 1995, a group of business people from Texas bought the resort. This helped Angel Fire Resort continue to be a great place for visitors.
