Angela Mellissa Griffin (born 19 July 1976) is a talented English actress, TV presenter, and director. She has been on British television since the early 1990s. You might know her best from her roles as Fiona Middleton in the TV show Coronation Street (from 1992–1998 and again in 2019). She also played Kim Campbell in the school drama Waterloo Road (from 2006–2007, 2009–2010, and again from 2023). Angela was also DS Lizzie Maddox in the detective show Lewis (2014–2015). She was even one of the first actors in Holby City, where she played nurse Jasmine Hopkins (1999–2001).

Early Life and Education
Angela Griffin grew up in Leeds, England, on the Cottingley Estate. She went to Intake High School in Leeds. Her mother is English, and her father is from St Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean.
Angela's Acting Journey
Angela Griffin has had a long and exciting career in television.
Early TV Roles
From 1992 to 1998, Angela played Fiona Middleton, a hairdresser, in the very popular TV show Coronation Street. She even made a special return to the show in 2019. Before that, in 1993, she had a small part in another TV show called Emmerdale.
Later, Angela joined the first cast of the medical drama Holby City. She played a nurse named Jasmine Hopkins until 2001. She also appeared in other BBC dramas like Cutting It and Down to Earth.
Presenting and Other Projects
In 2001, Angela presented a show called Brown Britain on Channel 4. It was about people of mixed race in British society. She interviewed many famous mixed-race people for the show.
From 2006 to 2010, Angela starred as Kim Campbell in the school drama Waterloo Road. Her character was an art teacher and head of student support. She took a break from the show for a while but returned later. She eventually left to focus on her own TV show.
In 2009, Angela started hosting her own live daytime show on Sky1 called Angela and Friends. It covered health topics and celebrity news. Her friends Lisa Faulkner and Nicola Stephenson often joined her. She also presented The Midweek National Lottery in 1999.
You might also recognize Angela's voice! She is the voice of Amy, the vet, in the children's TV show Postman Pat.
In 2008, Angela took part in a reality show called Murder Most Famous. In this show, she and other celebrities wrote a crime novel.
Recent Work and Return to Waterloo Road
In 2010, Angela co-presented the Golden Globes awards coverage for Sky 1. She also appeared in the comedy-drama Mount Pleasant and presented Emergency with Angela Griffin. In 2012, she was a finalist in The Great Sport Relief Bake Off.
Angela played Dolly in the play One Man, Two Guvnors in 2013. From 2014 to 2015, she was DS Lizzie Maddox in the ITV series Lewis. She also co-hosted Fat Pets: Slimmer of the Year in 2015.
In 2018, Angela co-presented The One Show on BBC One. She also started playing detective Stevie Hall in the Canadian drama The Detail.
Since 2021, Angela has hosted Unwinds on BBC Radio 2. She also sometimes fills in for other presenters on the station.
In 2022, it was announced that Angela would return to Waterloo Road as Kim Campbell, but this time her character was promoted to Head Teacher! She also appeared in the Netflix horror film Choose or Die and voiced Medea in an animated video about an ancient Greek play.
