Angela Sarafyan is an Armenian-American actress. She is known for her roles in movies like On the Doll (2007) and Lost & Found in Armenia (2012). Many people also know her from the TV series Westworld, where she played Clementine Pennyfeather from 2016 to 2022.

Early Life and Moving to the US

Angela Sarafyan was born in Yerevan, which was part of the Soviet Union at the time. When she was four years old, her family moved to the United States. They settled in Los Angeles, California.

Her father, Grigor Sarafyan, is an actor, and her mother is a painter. Growing up, Angela learned ballet and played the piano. She went to Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School in Los Angeles.

Starting Her Acting Journey (2000–2008)

Angela Sarafyan began her acting career in 2000. Her first role was on the TV show Judging Amy. After that, she appeared in a music video for Britney Spears' song "Stronger".

She also had guest roles on popular TV shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In 2004, she made her first movie appearance in The Last Run.

Angela continued to act in many TV series. These included The Shield, 24, and CSI: NY. She also appeared in films like Kabluey and On the Doll in 2007. In 2008, she got her first main role as Maggie in the movie A Beautiful Life.

Gaining Recognition (2009–2015)

From 2009 onwards, Angela Sarafyan became more widely known. She starred in movies such as Repo Chick and Love Hurts. She also had a role in the TV series Eastwick.

In 2010, she played Samantha Evans in the TV series The Good Guys. She also appeared in an episode of Childrens Hospital.

In 2016, Angela Sarafyan appeared in the historical drama The Promise. This movie was about a love story during the Armenian genocide. She also co-starred with Scott Eastwood in Mercury Plains.

From 2016 to 2022, Angela played a main character, Clementine Pennyfeather, in the HBO science-fiction series Westworld. Her role in Westworld was very popular. She and her co-stars were nominated for an award at the 23rd Screen Actors Guild Awards for their acting as a team.

After Westworld, Angela continued to act in many projects. She played the main role of Francesca in the movie We Are Boats. In 2019, Angela was in the Netflix movie Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and the video game Telling Lies. She also appeared in an episode of the horror series Into the Dark. In 2020, she was in the film Caged.

In 2021, Angela had a supporting role in Reminiscence, which starred Hugh Jackman. She also appeared in King Knight and A House on the Bayou.

Recent Work (2023–Present)

In 2023, Angela Sarafyan took part in a discussion panel called "Armenian Women in Film and Entertainment."

Her recent movie roles include Pet Shop Days (2023) and Little Death (2024). In March 2024, it was announced that Angela was cast in the action movie G20, starring Viola Davis.

In 2025, Angela Sarafyan had a special appearance as Lara, who is Superman's mother, in the movie Superman.
