Angela Michelle Harmon (born August 10, 1972) is an American actress and model. She became famous for her roles in TV shows like Law & Order and Rizzoli & Isles.
Angie Harmon started her career as a model when she was 15 years old. She won a contest by Seventeen magazine in 1987. After that, she appeared on the covers of popular magazines such as Cosmopolitan and Esquire.
Her first big acting role was as Ryan McBride on Baywatch Nights (1995–1997). She later gained more recognition for playing Abbie Carmichael on Law & Order (1998–2001). For this role, she was nominated for four Screen Actors Guild Awards. She also voiced Barbara Gordon in the animated movie Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (2000). Another notable film role was Ronica Miles in Agent Cody Banks (2003).
From 2010 to 2016, Harmon starred as Jane Rizzoli in the TNT series Rizzoli & Isles. This role earned her several awards. She won the Gracie Award in 2012 and the People's Choice Award in 2015. In 2021, she signed a special deal with Lifetime for several movies.

Early Life
Angie Harmon was born on August 10, 1972, in Highland Park, Texas. This is a suburb near Dallas, Texas. Her mother is Daphne Demar, and her father is Lawrence Paul "Larry" Harmon. Her father worked in hospital information.
Angie's family has different backgrounds. Her father's family has German and Irish roots. Her mother's family is of Greek descent. On the TV show Who Do You Think You Are?, Angie learned that one of her German ancestors fought in George Washington's army during the American Revolutionary War. This ancestor later bought land in Mercer County, Kentucky, which is still owned by a distant part of her family.
Career Highlights
Angie Harmon started modeling as a child. In 1987, she won a modeling contest held by Seventeen magazine. She went to Highland Park High School until 1990. After high school, she continued her successful modeling career.
She became well-known in the early 1990s as a runway model. She worked for famous designers like Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, and Donna Karan. Her face appeared on the covers of magazines such as ELLE, Cosmopolitan, and Esquire. She is currently signed with IMG Models in New York City.
Becoming an Actress
Angie Harmon began acting in 1995. She was discovered by actor David Hasselhoff while on a plane. Soon after, she got a main role in Baywatch Nights. She also appeared in the short-lived show C-16: FBI. In 1997, she was in the film Lawn Dogs.
In the late 1990s, Harmon became more famous. She joined the NBC series Law & Order as Assistant District Attorney Abbie Carmichael. She played this role from 1998 to 2001. During this time, she also lent her voice to Barbara Gordon in the animated movie Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. Harmon left Law & Order to focus on making movies.

After Law & Order, Angie Harmon appeared in the 2001 film Good Advice. She then had a supporting role in Agent Cody Banks (2003). In this movie, she played a CIA agent who helped a teenage spy.
In 2006, Harmon co-starred with Cuba Gooding Jr. and James Woods in the movie End Game. She also played Rose in the Western film Seraphim Falls. She tried out for a few TV shows that didn't last long, like Inconceivable and Women's Murder Club.
In 2010, Angie Harmon began starring in the TNT crime-drama series Rizzoli & Isles. She played Jane Rizzoli, a police detective in Boston. Her co-star was Sasha Alexander. The show started on July 12, 2010, and ran until 2016. Harmon even directed the show's 100th episode. For her work on Rizzoli & Isles, she won the Gracie Allen Award in 2012 and a People's Choice Award in 2015.
In 2012, Harmon appeared in the music video for Craig Morgan's song "This Ole Boy". She also mentioned on Conan O'Brien's talk show that she would love to play She-Hulk in a movie.
In June 2021, Harmon signed a deal with Lifetime to develop several movies. She narrated the documentary series Cellmate Secrets and starred as Hazel King in the movie Buried in Barstow.
Personal Life
On March 13, 2000, Angie Harmon got engaged to Jason Sehorn, a former NFL player. He proposed to her during her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. They got married on June 9, 2001.
Angie and Jason have three daughters: Finley, Avery, and Emery. In November 2014, they announced that they were separating after 13 years of marriage.
From 2019 to 2021, Harmon was engaged to actor Greg Vaughan.
