Agent Cody Banks is a fun spy comedy film from 2003. It was directed by Harald Zwart. The movie is all about a 15-year-old named Cody Banks, played by Frankie Muniz. Cody has to deal with everyday teen stuff like chores and not getting grounded. But he also has a secret mission: he works for the CIA! He goes undercover as a super cool spy, kind of like James Bond, to save the world.

The film also stars Hilary Duff, Angie Harmon, Keith David, and Ian McShane. It was filmed in British Columbia, Canada. Agent Cody Banks came out in the United States on March 14, 2003. This movie was one of the first big film roles for Hilary Duff. She was already famous from her TV show Lizzie McGuire. A sequel to the movie came out the next year.

Cody Banks: Teen Spy Mission

Cody Banks is a regular 15-year-old high school student in Seattle. He's a bit shy and sometimes gets picked on. But Cody has a secret: he's training to be a junior agent for the CIA! After finishing a special summer camp, Cody gets his first big mission.

Finding Dr. Connors

Cody's boss, Agent Ronica Miles, tells him about a scientist named Dr. Albert Connors. Dr. Connors works for a bad group called ERIS. This group is led by Dr. Brinkman and his helper, François Molay. The CIA needs to find out what Dr. Connors is up to. Since the bad guys know all the grown-up CIA agents, they decide to use Cody. He's a new face, so no one will suspect him!

Cody's mission is to go to the same fancy school as Dr. Connors' daughter, Natalie. The school is called the William Donovan Institute. Cody needs to get close to Natalie to learn more about her dad.

Spy School and Gadgets

Cody quickly finds out that being a spy and a normal teen is hard. He's not very good at talking to girls. Plus, he still has chores and homework! The CIA decides to help him out. They secretly do his chores and homework. They even try to make him popular at school.

The CIA also brings in a team of "experts." These experts teach Cody how to talk to girls. They also give him cool spy gadgets. These gadgets have all sorts of hidden functions to help him on his mission.

The Birthday Party Plan

Cody eventually becomes friends with Natalie. He even starts to like her! One day, he saves her from falling off a ladder. After that, Natalie invites him to her 16th birthday party. This is Cody's chance to go undercover. He plans to sneak into her father's secret lab during the party.

Inside the lab, Cody discovers Dr. Brinkman's evil plan. Dr. Brinkman wants to use tiny robots called nanobots. These nanobots can destroy almost anything made of carbon or silicon. This means they could destroy all the world's defense systems! Dr. Brinkman wants to use them to threaten anyone who stands in his way. The nanobots don't work when they are cold. So, Dr. Brinkman plans to hide them inside ice cubes to spread them around. Cody tries to grab one of the ice cubes, but it melts in his hand.

Trouble and Being Grounded

Soon after, Cody gets into a fight with some bullies at the party. This fight makes it into the school newspaper. Because of this, the CIA takes Cody off the mission. Meanwhile, Dr. Connors doesn't want to help Dr. Brinkman with his evil plan. So, Dr. Brinkman sends François and his men to grab Natalie. They take her to their secret base in the Cascade Mountains.

Cody disobeys orders and meets Natalie for ice cream. He tries to tell her what's going on. But François and his henchmen show up. They beat Cody up and take Natalie away. Cody is completely removed from the mission. He also gets grounded by his parents for being out for hours!

The Rescue Mission

Cody knows he has to save Natalie. He gives his brother Alex $5,000 (money the CIA gave him) to keep his parents from finding out he's gone. Cody gave Natalie a special necklace for her birthday. It has a tracking device! He uses it to find out where she is.

Cody then breaks into the CIA's secret weapons room. He steals a super cool rocket-powered snowboard and other gadgets. He gets a ride to the top of the mountain. Then, he snowboards down to the bad guys' factory where Natalie is held. But he gets stuck in some trees. Agent Ronica Miles finds him using a special flying device. Cody convinces her that they need to rescue Natalie together.

They sneak into the lab. Cody rescues Natalie and finally tells her the truth about being a spy.

Stopping the Bad Guys

But then, Cody, Ronica, and Natalie get caught by Dr. Brinkman's men. Cody quickly escapes. Dr. Brinkman holds Natalie hostage. He puts an ice cube with a nanobot on her forehead. He wants her father, Dr. Connors, to program the system for him.

Cody sets off explosive charges he and Ronica planted. A big fight breaks out! Ronica fights off many of Dr. Brinkman's men. Natalie bravely defeats Dr. Brinkman herself! She puts the nanobot ice cube into his mouth. It melts, and the nanobots destroy him from the inside. Cody then defeats François and sends him to the CIA using the flying device. Cody, Ronica, Natalie, and Dr. Connors escape the exploding factory.

The CIA welcomes Cody back to the team. They congratulate him for finishing the mission. As a reward, Cody helps Natalie get her driver's license. She passes! At the end, they stop at a beach and share a kiss, starting a relationship.
