Angus Alan Douglas Douglas-Hamilton (born 13 September 1938 – died 5 June 2010) was the 15th Duke of Hamilton and 12th Duke of Brandon. A Duke is a very high-ranking noble title. He was considered the most important noble in Scotland. Before he became Duke, he was known by other titles like Earl of Angus and Marquess of Douglas and Clydesdale.

Life and Work
Angus Douglas-Hamilton was the son of the 14th Duke of Hamilton. His mother was Lady Elizabeth Percy. She was the daughter of the 8th Duke of Northumberland.
Early Life and Education
He went to Eton College, a famous school in England. After that, he studied at Balliol College, Oxford, a well-known university. His father also studied at these same places. Angus had a younger brother named James Douglas-Hamilton, Baron Selkirk of Douglas. His brother became a politician in Scotland.
Royal Duties
When Queen Elizabeth II was crowned in 1953, Angus was a "page" in the ceremony. This meant he had an important role helping during the event. He also received a special medal for the Coronation.
He had a special role as the Hereditary Keeper of the Palace of Holyroodhouse. This is the Queen's official home in Scotland. Being "Hereditary Keeper" means the role is passed down in his family.
He also had another important family duty. Because of an old family title, he was the hereditary bearer of the Crown of Scotland. This means he had the right to carry the historic Crown. He performed this duty at the opening of the Scottish Parliament. He carried the Crown in front of the Queen.
Interests and Hobbies
Angus Douglas-Hamilton cared a lot about animals. He worked to help animal welfare. He did this with his third wife, Kay Carmichael. He also loved motorsport. He even set several speed records for cars in the UK and around the world.
Family Life
The 15th Duke of Hamilton was married three times during his life.
First Marriage
He first married Sarah Jane Scott on 23 June 1972. They later divorced in 1987. They had four children together:

- Lady Ann Douglas-Hamilton (born 14 May 1976)
- Alexander Douglas-Hamilton, 16th Duke of Hamilton (born 31 March 1978)
- Lord John William Douglas-Hamilton (born 2 October 1979)
They also had five grandchildren.
Second Marriage
His second marriage was to Jillian Robertson in 1988. They divorced in 1995. They did not have any children together.
Third Marriage
He married Kay Carmichael in 1998. She is now known as the Dowager Duchess of Hamilton. They did not have children together. Kay Carmichael is a trained nurse. She supports a charity that helps Staffordshire Bull Terriers in Scotland.
The 15th Duke of Hamilton passed away on 5 June 2010. He was 71 years old.
