Larissa de Macedo Machado (born March 30, 1993), known as Anitta, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress. She sometimes hosts TV shows too. Anitta is famous for her flexible music style. She mixes genres like pop, funk, and reggaeton.
Anitta has won many awards. These include four Latin American Music Awards and nine MTV Europe Music Awards. She also holds two Guinness World Records. She has been nominated for two Grammy Awards. Anitta is called the "Queen of Brazilian Pop". She is the Brazilian female singer with the most songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
After releasing her first song "Meiga e Abusada" in 2012, Anitta signed with Warner Music Brazil. Her first album, Anitta, came out in 2013. It quickly became number one in Brazil. Anitta's Early Life and Start in Music
Anitta was born in Honório Gurgel, Rio de Janeiro. She is the younger daughter of Míriam Macedo and Mauro Machado. Her brother, Renan Machado, works as her artistic producer. Her mother raised Anitta and her brother by herself in their community.
Anitta started singing at age 8 in a church choir. Her grandparents helped her join. At 11, she used her allowance to take English classes. Later, her mother's teacher gave her dance lessons. When she was 16, she finished a course in administration. A year later, she decided to become an artist. That same year, she won the "Revelation of Music" award.
Anitta's stage name was inspired by a character named Anita from a TV show called Presença de Anita.

How Anitta Started: 2012–2013
In 2010, a music producer named Renato Azevedo saw Anitta singing in a video. He invited her to try out. After she passed, she signed with Furacão 2000, an independent music label. That year, she released her first song, "Eu Vou Ficar". Her producer suggested adding another "t" to her stage name, making it Anitta.
Her first TV appearance was in May 2012 on a show called Cante se Puder. In June 2012, she signed with K2L Entertainment.

On June 21, 2021, Anitta joined the board of directors of Nubank, a large financial technology company in Latin America. She helped with important decisions, like listing the company on the Brazilian stock exchange. In August 2022, Anitta became a global brand ambassador for Nubank.
In May 2022, Anitta launched an online course called "Anitta Prepara" with Estácio. It teaches about entrepreneurship. She also became a partner in Fazenda Futuro (Future Farm), a company that makes plant-based meats.
On July 28, 2022, Anitta launched "Puzzy By Anitta" with the company Cimed. It is an intimate perfume brand. The products are tested and approved. "Puzzy by Anitta" is Cimed's first product sold outside Brazil.
Anitta's Personal Life and Causes
Anitta has had relationships with different people. She was married to businessman Thiago Magalhães from 2017 to 2018. She has also had brief relationships with other artists and models.
In a 2017 interview, Anitta said that if she wasn't an artist, she would have been a happy psychologist.
In January 2019, after watching a documentary, she started trying to be vegan. PETA named her one of the Most Beautiful Vegan Celebrities of 2022.
Anitta follows Candomblé, a religion.
Anitta's Philanthropy and Advocacy
Anitta is an environmental activist. She speaks out against harm to the Amazon rainforest and supports the rights of its indigenous people. During the 2018 Brazilian elections, she publicly opposed a presidential candidate. She also supports action on climate change, conservation, health, and the right to food. She has given many donations to charities and communities in need. This includes helping fight poverty and supporting children in Africa.
Anitta supports the rights of the LGBTQ community. She believes that religion should not interfere with civil rights like marriage.
