A Canadian composer named Jean Chatillon created a special harp song just for her. Anne Vanschothorst wrote her first music piece, "Still Life," when she was only 15 years old. This song was first made for harp and flute, but later she changed it to be played only on the harp.

Her song "Streetlife" was chosen for a special international project called 60x60 in 2006–2007. This project was started by composer and musician Robert Voisey.

Working with Other Artists

They worked together online using the internet and platforms like Myspace.
Anne's Musical Style
Anne Vanschothorst's music often sounds like "minimal music." This means it uses simple ideas that repeat and slowly change. You might hear influences from famous composers like Philip Glass and Yann Tiersen in her work.
The songs on her CD Aarden (released in 2007) are very calm and peaceful, almost like a mantra that helps you relax. This music is played on real instruments and doesn't use electronic sounds.
Improvisation and Other Elements
When Anne improvises, which means she makes up music on the spot, her style is influenced by jazz music, classical music, and traditional celtic music. You can hear this on her CD I am a Dreamer (released in 2008).
She also likes to add special sounds called "soundscapes" and spoken poetry to her recordings. This makes her music even more unique. Anne also adds videos to her music. These videos often show artistic pictures that she takes or changes with special filters.
