College Football Career
Allen played college football at the University of South Carolina. He was a student there from 2008 to 2011. For his first two years, he played as a linebacker. After that, he switched to playing as a safety.
He had a very successful college career. By the time he finished, he had made 198 tackles. He also had 3.5 sacks and four interceptions. Two of his plays even resulted in touchdowns.

Playing for the New York Jets (First Time)
The New York Jets picked Antonio Allen in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL draft. He was the 242nd player chosen overall. He signed a four-year contract with the team.
Allen was initially waived by the Jets in September 2012. However, he was quickly re-signed to their practice squad. He was later moved to the main roster in October 2012. He was waived again briefly but rejoined the practice squad. By December 2012, he was back on the active roster.
In the 2013 season, Allen competed for a starting position. He ended that year with 60 tackles. He also had one sack and an interception that he returned for a touchdown. In August 2015, the Jets waived Allen after he got an Achilles tendon injury. He was then placed on injured reserve.
Time with the Houston Texans
