The 2005 season was a big year for Antonio Pittman. He rushed for 1,331 yards and scored seven touchdowns. This was the 10th best single-season rushing record in Ohio State history. Only Archie Griffin gained more yards as a sophomore. Pittman's rushing total was also among the top in the NCAA and the Big Ten Conference that season. In the next game, he helped win the 2006 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He made an amazing 60-yard touchdown run with less than two minutes left, even though he had an injured hamstring. As the starter, Pittman continued to achieve impressive results. He rushed for over 100 yards and scored touchdowns in games against Northern Illinois, Cincinnati, Penn State, and Iowa. He also scored a touchdown in a big game against the #2 ranked Texas Longhorns.
