Anusuiya Uikey, born on April 10, 1957, is an important Indian politician. She has held significant roles in the government. She served as the Governor of Chhattisgarh and later as the Governor of Manipur.

Early Life and Political Start
Anusuiya Uikey was born in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, India. She studied Economics and Law, earning both a Master of Arts (M.A.) and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree. Before becoming a politician, she worked as an agriculturist and social worker.
Entering Politics in Madhya Pradesh
Her political journey began in 1985. She was elected as a member of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. She represented the Damua area. At that time, she was part of the Indian National Congress party.
Serving as a Minister
During her time in the Madhya Pradesh government, Anusuiya Uikey became a minister. She was in charge of the Department for Women and Child Development. This role focused on improving the lives of women and children. Her first term in the Assembly ended in 1990.
Journey to Governor
After her time in the state assembly, Anusuiya Uikey continued her political career. In 1998, she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. She later became a member of the Rajya Sabha in 2006. The Rajya Sabha is one of the two houses of the Indian Parliament.
Governor of Chhattisgarh
On July 16, 2019, Anusuiya Uikey was appointed as the Governor of Chhattisgarh. As Governor, she was the head of the state. She worked to ensure the state government followed the constitution. Her term as Governor of Chhattisgarh ended on February 22, 2023.
Governor of Manipur
Soon after, on February 12, 2023, she was appointed as the Governor of Manipur. She served in this role until July 26, 2024. As Governor, she played a key part in the state's administration.
