The Governor of Manipur is like the main representative of the President of India in the Indian state of Manipur. They are the official head of the state, but their role is mostly ceremonial, meaning they don't usually make the day-to-day decisions. The Governor is chosen by the President of India. The current Governor of Manipur is Ajay Kumar Bhalla, who was appointed by President Droupadi Murmu.

What Does a Governor Do?

The Governor has several important jobs in a state like Manipur. They make sure the state government follows the Constitution (the main rulebook of the country). They also appoint the Chief Minister and other ministers, who are the ones who actually run the government. The Governor also has the power to approve laws passed by the state's assembly. Think of them as a guardian for the state, making sure everything runs smoothly and fairly.
