Ara Gevorgyan (Armenian: Արա Գևորգյան, born on April 19, 1960) is a talented Armenian musician, composer, and music producer. He creates many different kinds of music, including pop, folk, and world music. In 2004, he received a special award called Honorary Artist of Armenia from the country's president, Robert Kocharyan. This award is given to people who have done great things in the arts.

Who is Ara Gevorgyan?
Early Life and Education
Ara Gevorgyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia. His mother, Valya Samvelyan, was a famous Armenian folk singer. Growing up, Ara went to School #31 in Yerevan. At the same time, he also studied music at the A. Tigranyan Musical School. He later spent two years at Yerevan #8 College of Fine Arts.
From 1983 to 1987, Ara studied at the Armenian State Pedagogical University. He focused on instruments like flutes and clarinets, and also learned about pop music. After finishing his studies, he taught music conducting (leading an orchestra) at the same university for two years. He also worked on a TV show called "3 Alik" for Armenian Television.
Music Career and Achievements
In 1983, Ara Gevorgyan started his own Armenian pop-rock band called "Rally." His band even took part in the "Song-85" music festival.
Ara Gevorgyan has worked with many famous musicians from around the world. Some of these include Jivan Gasparyan, Ian Gillan, Demis Roussos, and Daniel Decker. He is known for popular songs like "Adana," "Artsakh," and "Ov Hayots Ashkharh."
He also composed music for a special ballet called "Golden Cage." This ballet was performed by the famous Russian ballerina Anastasia Volochkova and was about the Bolshoi Theater.
Ara Gevorgyan has received several important awards for his music. These include the "Mikhail Lomonosov" Russian medal and a gold medal from the Ministry of Culture of Armenia.
