Arboga (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈârːˌboːɡa]) is a town in Sweden. It is located in Västmanland County. Arboga is also the main town of Arboga Municipality. In 2020, about 10,989 people lived there.

About Arboga
Arboga has been a town since the 1200s. But people have lived in the area since about 900 AD. The name "Arboga" comes from old Swedish words. "Ar" means river and "bughi" means bend. So, Arboga means "river bend."
History of Arboga
Arboga was once a home for the royal family of Sweden. Important meetings were held here. These included church meetings and national assemblies. The first meeting of the Riksdag of the Estates happened in Arboga in 1435. This was a big step for Swedish politics. Albertus Pictor, a famous Swedish artist, lived in Arboga in 1465. He made many beautiful paintings.
Arboga Today
Today, Arboga is an important place for travel. Two major highways, E18 and E20, meet here. Also, two railway lines, Mälarbanan and Svealandsbanan, connect in Arboga. These lines go between Stockholm and Hallsberg. The city's population was about 14,057 in 2023.

Some famous bands have recorded music in Arboga. Bands like Bring Me the Horizon and Arch Enemy used Fredrik Nordström's studio. This studio, called Studio Fredman, was later moved to Gothenburg.

Arboga also hosted a big event in 2011. The Sixth Women's World Gliding Championships took place here. This was from June 15 to June 25. Alexander Gustafsson, a well-known mixed martial artist, was born in Arboga.
