Early Life and Education
Ariel grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana. When she was in high school, she was active in student government. She was a senior class parliamentarian and a senior senator. After finishing high school, she moved to New York City. Her parents are Marjorie and David Meredith.
Ariel Meredith's Modeling Journey
Ariel was discovered by a modeling agency when she was 14 years old. However, she waited until she finished her education in 2008 to model full-time. In 1998, she won a big modeling contest in Dallas. About 500 people competed in this contest. After winning, she signed with Ford Models in New York.
Early Magazine Appearances
As a teenager, Ariel appeared in several popular magazines. These included Seventeen, Teen Cosmopolitan, Cosmopolitan, and Teen. She also started traveling for work while still in school. In 2002, she was on the MTV show Fashionably Loud. She began modeling regularly in 2005.
Breaking into High Fashion
In September 2008, Ariel made her debut on the runway for Vera Wang's Spring Show in New York. Her experience at New York Fashion Week was even written about in USA Today. She also modeled for Nicole Miller during this time. Ariel walked in shows for eleven different fashion designers. One of her biggest moments was opening a show for Junya Watanabe. This showed she was becoming a rising star.
After her shows in New York, she went to Milan, Italy. There, she did eight more shows. She has walked the runway for many famous brands. Some of these include Baby Phat, Diesel, D&G, Elie Saab, and Victoria's Secret. Her performances in 2008 helped her become known as a rising star in the modeling world.
Advertising Campaigns and Photoshoots
Ariel has been featured in many advertising campaigns. In 2009, she was part of the Spring/Summer Dolce & Gabbana campaign. This campaign was photographed by the famous Mario Testino. She has also posed for well-known brands like J.Crew, H&M, Target, and Levi's.
In 2009, Ariel shot for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Her photoshoot took place in beautiful locations near Tulum, Mexico. These included beaches, lagoons, and nature preserves. As of 2014, Ariel Meredith is represented by Supreme Management in New York City.
