Juan Carlos "Arjo" Campo Atayde (born November 5, 1990) is a Filipino actor and politician. He is currently a representative for Quezon City's 1st district in the Philippine government. Arjo Atayde is well-known for his roles in TV shows on ABS-CBN. He also gained praise for his part as Benjo in the web series Bagman. He was first elected to Congress in 2022.

Early Life and Family
Arjo Atayde was born on November 5, 1990. His mother is the famous actress Sylvia Sanchez. His father is Arturo Atayde, a Spanish-Filipino businessman. Arjo is the oldest of four children. His siblings are Ria, Gela, and Xavi. He went to school at La Salle Green Hills. Later, he studied at Reedley International School.
Acting Career Highlights
Arjo Atayde started acting when he was nine years old. His first show was Ang TV. However, he stopped acting for a while to focus on his studies.
Early Roles and Awards
More than ten years later, in 2012, Arjo returned to acting. He appeared in the TV show E-Boy as a character named "Jepoy." He also starred in many episodes of the drama series Maalaala Mo Kaya. For his work in "Bangka," he won "Best Male New TV Personality" in 2012. In 2014, he won "Best Single Performance by an Actor" for his role as a gay parent in the "Dos Por Dos" episode.
Major TV Series Roles
In 2013, Arjo played Rafael de Lara in the TV series Dugong Buhay. He won an award for Best Drama Supporting Actor for this role. He then appeared in Pure Love. His biggest role came when he played Joaquin Tuazon in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano. This role also earned him another award for Best Drama Supporting Actor.
Critically Acclaimed Performances
Arjo continued to take on important roles in 2019. He played Benjo in the iWant TV show Bagman. For this, he won Best Actor in a Leading Role at the 3rd Asian Academy Creative Awards. He also played Elai in The General's Daughter. In this role, he portrayed a character with autism. Many people praised his sensitive and realistic acting. Even the Autism Society Philippines approved of his performance.
Business Ventures
In July 2024, Arjo Atayde started his own restaurant business. He opened the first "Inasal Republic" branch in Quezon City. This restaurant chain serves "Tatak Ilonggo" style food. He owns this business with film director Richard Somes and other partners.

Serving in Congress

In 2022, Arjo Atayde decided to run for a political position. He ran to become a representative for Quezon City's 1st congressional district. He ran as an independent candidate. He won the election with a large number of votes. He officially started his term on June 30, 2022.
On October 8, 2022, Arjo Atayde joined the Nacionalista Party. This is one of the oldest political parties in the Philippines.
Personal Life
Arjo Atayde is married to actress and TV host Maine Mendoza. They got married on July 28, 2023, in a ceremony held in Baguio.
