Nicomaine Dei Capili Mendoza-Atayde, born on March 3, 1995, is a famous television host and actress from the Philippines. Many people know her as Maine Mendoza. She first became popular for her funny viral Dubsmash videos, where she would lip-sync to famous sounds and voices.

Her big break came when she played the character Yaya Dub on the TV show Eat Bulaga!. She was part of a special segment called "Kalyeserye". During the show, she was paired with actor Alden Richards, and together they became the super-popular love team known as AlDub. The name AlDub is a mix of Alden's name and her character's name, Yaya Dub. Their on-screen romance was a huge hit with audiences.

Besides her work on Eat Bulaga!, Maine has starred in movies. For her role in the 2015 film My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore, she won the Best Supporting Actress award. She went to high school at St. Paul College of Bocaue. Later, she earned a bachelor's degree in culinary arts from De La Salle-College of St. Benilde. As part of her studies, she worked as an intern at The Sagamore, a hotel in Bolton Landing, New York.

On July 28, 2023, Maine Mendoza married actor Arjo Atayde. They had a private wedding ceremony in Baguio City, with only their families and close friends attending.

Becoming a Star

In 2015, Maine posted a video on Facebook where she hilariously impersonated the celebrity Kris Aquino. The video went viral almost instantly, getting over a million views in just one night. This made people call her the "Queen of Dubsmash" in the Philippines.

Because of her online fame, she was hired by the popular TV show Eat Bulaga!. She first appeared on July 4, 2015, as Yaya Dub, the assistant to a character named Lola Nidora.
