Armin Wolf (born August 19, 1966) is a well-known Austrian journalist and TV news anchor. He is famous for his smart and sometimes tough interviews. In 2017, a magazine called Politico Europe said he was one of Europe's most skilled political journalists. He even won the "European Journalist of the Year 2019" award!

Early Life and School
Armin Wolf was born in Innsbruck, a city in Tyrol, Austria. He finished high school at a business school in Innsbruck. Later, he went to the University of Vienna and earned a master's degree. He also studied at the University of Innsbruck, where he got a doctorate in political science. In 2010, he earned another degree, an MBA, from a school in Berlin, Germany.
Armin Wolf's Career in Journalism
Armin Wolf started his career in broadcasting in 1985. He worked as a freelance reporter for ORF, which is Austria's public TV and radio company.
Working at ORF Radio and TV
In 1987, he moved to Vienna. There, he became a reporter and editor for international news at ORF's main radio station, Ö1. From 1991 to 1992, he lived in Washington D.C. and worked as a correspondent for the U.S..
From 1995 to 2002, he was a political editor. He also worked as a chief correspondent and managing editor for different TV news shows at ORF.
Presenting ZIB 2 News Show
Since 2002, Armin Wolf has been the main presenter for ORF's news show, ZIB 2. He takes turns presenting with other anchors like Martin Thür and Marie-Claire Zimmermann. The ZIB 2 show is on TV from Monday to Friday. It is very popular, with about 30 percent of TV viewers watching it. In 2018, he even interviewed the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.
Books and Teaching
Besides his TV work, Armin Wolf has written three books. These books are about how politicians communicate with people. He has also taught political science classes at the universities of Vienna and Innsbruck.
Awards and Recognition
Armin Wolf has won many awards for his interviews. He was named Austria's "Journalist of the Year" in 2004 and 2018. He also won four Romy awards. These awards are for Austria's most popular TV anchor, and he won them in 2006, 2007, 2012, and 2019.
In 2011, he was chosen as "Onliner of the Year" in the Media category. This was for having Austria's most popular Twitter account. People voted for him on a website and on Facebook. In 2012, he was voted "Communicator of the Year" by visitors to the website of the Public Relations Association Austria.

Armin Wolf's Family Life
Armin Wolf lives in Vienna with his wife, Euke Frank. She is also an Austrian journalist and is the editor-in-chief of Woman magazine. She has two children. Before this, Armin Wolf was married to ORF presenter Birgit Fenderl from 2001 to 2004.
His great-grandfather was a famous mountaineer and lawyer named Viktor Wolf von Glanvell.
