Armin Wolf (born 19 August 1966) is a well-known Austrian journalist and TV presenter. He is famous for his interviews on Austrian television. In 2017, a magazine called Politico Europe said he was one of Europe's best political journalists. He even won "European Journalist of the Year 2019" at a big media competition called Prix Europa.

Early Life and Education

Armin Wolf was born in Innsbruck, Tyrol, Austria. He went to a business school in Innsbruck. Later, he studied at the University of Vienna and the University of Innsbruck. He earned degrees in political science. In 2010, he also got a special business degree in Berlin.

Career as a Journalist

Wolf started his career in 1985. He worked as a freelance reporter for ORF. ORF is Austria's public broadcasting company. In 1987, he moved to Vienna. There, he worked as a reporter and editor for international news on ORF's radio station, Ö1.

From 1991 to 1992, he lived in Washington D.C.. He was a U.S. correspondent for ORF. This means he reported on news from the United States. From 1995 to 2002, he was a political editor. He also managed different TV news programs at ORF.

Since 2002, Armin Wolf has been a main presenter for ZIB 2. This is a very popular news show on ORF. He presents the show with other anchors like Martin Thür. ZIB 2 is shown from Monday to Friday. Many people watch it, sometimes up to 30% of TV viewers. In 2018, he even interviewed the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.

Besides his TV work, Wolf has written three books. These books are about how politicians communicate with the public. He has also taught courses at the universities of Vienna and Innsbruck.

Armin Wolf lives in Vienna with his wife, Euke Frank. She is also an Austrian journalist and the editor-in-chief of Woman magazine. She has two children. Before this, he was married to ORF presenter Birgit Fenderl from 2001 to 2004.

His great-grandfather was Viktor Wolf von Glanvell [de]. He was a mountaineer and a lawyer who studied church law.
