Arnold McCuller was born on August 26, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio. He is an American singer, songwriter, and music producer. He is well-known for his solo music and for working as a session musician. A session musician is someone who plays or sings on recordings or tours for other artists.

McCuller is especially famous for being a backup singer for many popular musicians. He has toured with stars like James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Phil Collins, Beck, Bonnie Raitt, and Todd Rundgren.

He toured with James Taylor for 45 years! Fans love his special singing parts in songs like "Shower the People", "I Will Follow", and "Is That the Way You Look". He also toured a lot with Phil Collins. McCuller is one of the main singers on the live version of "Easy Lover". In 2010, he joined the Troubadour Reunion Tour with James Taylor and Carole King.

Arnold McCuller in Movies

Arnold McCuller has appeared in many movies. He often acts in films that are about music. Some of these include American Hot Wax (1978) and The Hollywood Knights (1980).

He also sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" in the movie The Sum of All Fears. In the film Duets, you don't see him on screen. However, his singing voice was mixed with actor Andre Braugher's voice. This created the singing voice for the character "Reggie Kane". Reggie Kane sang "Try a Little Tenderness" with Paul Giamatti in the movie. He also performed an a cappella (singing without instruments) version of "Free Bird".

McCuller also sang the song "Nowhere to Run" for the 1979 movie The Warriors. This song is on the film's soundtrack. He was also one of four singers in a "guitar duel scene" in the 1986 movie Crossroads. He sang with Ry Cooder in that scene.
