History of Thann-Guebwiller
The Arrondissement of Thann-Guebwiller is quite new! It was created in 2015. Before that, there were two separate arrondissements: Thann and Guebwiller. They were joined together to form this new, larger district.
Geography of Thann-Guebwiller
The Arrondissement of Thann-Guebwiller is located in the western part of the Haut-Rhin department. It shares borders with several other areas:
- To the north and northeast, it borders the Colmar-Ribeauvillé arrondissement.
- To the east, it's next to the Mulhouse arrondissement.
- To the south, it touches the Altkirch arrondissement.
- To the southwest, it borders the Territoire de Belfort.
- To the west, it's next to the Vosges department.
