Arthur John Baron (born January 5, 1950) is an American jazz musician. He is best known for playing the trombone. But he also plays many other interesting instruments! These include the didgeridoo, conch shell, and penny-whistle. He can also play the alto and bass recorder, and the tuba.

Art Baron's Musical Journey
Starting Out and Joining Duke Ellington
Art Baron studied music at the Berklee College of Music. This is a well-known school for musicians. In August 1973, when he was 23 years old, Art joined the famous Duke Ellington band. Duke Ellington was a legendary jazz composer and bandleader. Art Baron was the very last trombonist Duke Ellington ever hired! This was a very special moment in his career.
Playing with Many Stars
After his time with Duke Ellington, Art Baron continued his amazing musical journey. He has performed and recorded with many famous artists. Some of these include Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, and James Taylor. He also played with jazz greats like Buddy Rich and Mel Tormé. Art Baron lives in New York City.
Leading His Own Band
Today, Art Baron leads a band called The Duke's Men. This band is made up of musicians who also played with Duke Ellington. They help keep Duke Ellington's music alive for new audiences.
