Artur's Early Life and Start in Sports
Artur Szpilka was born in Wieliczka, Poland, in 1989. Before he became a boxer, he was involved with groups of football fans. A local boxing coach saw his energy and suggested he try boxing instead. This was a great idea!
Amateur Boxing Success
As a young amateur boxer, Artur quickly showed his talent. He won the Polish national heavyweight title. He also made it to the quarterfinals of the Junior World Championships. These early wins showed he had a bright future in the sport.
A Difficult Time
When Artur was 20 years old, he faced some challenges. He was involved in a fight between rival football fans. This led to him spending about 18 months away from boxing. After this period, he returned to his professional career.

Early Wins and Challenges
On June 30, 2012, Artur fought Jameel McCline in Poland. He won this fight by a unanimous decision. This victory led to two exciting matches against Mike Mollo in 2013. Artur won both fights by knockout. In one of these fights, he was even knocked down himself but got back up to win!
Facing Tough Opponents
On January 25, 2014, Artur faced Bryant Jennings in New York City. Artur stepped in for another boxer who couldn't fight. He lost this match when the referee stopped the fight in the final round. Later that year, on November 8, 2014, Artur had one of his most important wins. He defeated former world champion Tomasz Adamek by unanimous decision.
Fighting for a World Title
On January 16, 2016, Artur got his chance to fight for the WBC heavyweight title. He faced the champion, Deontay Wilder. Artur used his tricky style to make Wilder miss many punches. However, in the ninth round, Wilder landed a powerful punch that knocked Artur out. He needed medical attention after the fight.
Comeback Fights
About a year and a half after the Wilder fight, Artur returned to the ring. He fought Adam Kownacki in New York. Kownacki won the fight in the fourth round. After this, Artur defeated Dominick Guinn by unanimous decision. He then had another big fight against Mariusz Wach. Artur won this close fight by a split decision.
Later Boxing Matches
On July 20, 2019, Artur fought Derek Chisora. Chisora won the fight by knockout in the second round. In 2020, Artur decided to move to a lighter weight class called cruiserweight. He won his first fight in this new division against Serhiy Radchenko. His last professional boxing match was on May 30, 2021, where he lost to Lukasz Rozanski.

Artur made his MMA debut on June 18, 2022, at KSW 71. He fought his former boxing opponent, Serhiy Radchenko, and won by technical knockout in the second round. His next MMA fight was on September 17, 2022, at High League 4. He won again, this time against Denis Załęcki, after Załęcki had a knee injury.
Big MMA Fights
Artur was supposed to fight Arkadiusz Wrzosek in January 2023, but he had to pull out due to a back injury. However, he returned to fight Mariusz Pudzianowski on June 3, 2023, at KSW 83. Artur won this exciting fight by technical knockout in the second round. He finally faced Arkadiusz Wrzosek on May 11, 2024, at KSW 94, but he lost that fight by knockout in the first round. Most recently, on April 26, 2025, Artur won his fight against Errol Zimmerman by submission.
