Bryant Jennings (born September 25, 1984) is an American former professional boxer. He is known for his powerful punches and strong fighting style. Jennings once fought for the unified world heavyweight boxing titles in 2015. He also competed for the WBA interim heavyweight title in the same year.
Jennings has achieved important wins against well-known boxers. These include former world champion Siarhei Liakhovich. He also beat former world title challengers Mike Perez and Artur Szpilka.

His Early Boxing Days
Bryant Jennings had a good start in amateur boxing. He won 13 fights and lost only 4. One of his notable wins was against Stipe Miocic, who later became a UFC heavyweight champion.
In 2009, Jennings reached the finals of the National Golden Gloves tournament. This is a big competition for amateur boxers. He lost in the final to a more experienced boxer named Lenroy Thompson.
Becoming a Pro Boxer
Starting Out Strong
Jennings began his professional boxing career on February 26, 2010. In his first fight, he won against Zeferino Albino. The judges all agreed he won, which is called a unanimous decision. He then knocked out Jon Bolden in his next fight. Later, he fought Albino again and knocked him out in the first round. He continued to win his fights in 2010 and 2011.
In 2012, Jennings had a big fight against Maurice Byarm. He won by unanimous decision and claimed the Pennsylvania State heavyweight title. This was an important step in his career.

Against Wladimir Klitschko
On April 25, 2015, Bryant Jennings got his chance to fight for the biggest titles in boxing. He faced Wladimir Klitschko, who was the heavyweight champion of the world. This fight was held at Madison Square Garden.
Klitschko used his jab and strong right hand to keep Jennings away. Klitschko won the fight by unanimous decision. This means all the judges agreed he was the winner.
Against Luis Ortiz
Later in 2015, on December 19, Jennings fought Luis Ortiz. Ortiz was an undefeated boxer from Cuba. This fight was for the WBA interim heavyweight title.
Jennings lost this fight in the seventh round. Ortiz landed a powerful punch that knocked Jennings down. The referee then stopped the fight to protect Jennings. This is called a technical knockout.
His Comeback Fights
After his loss to Ortiz, Jennings took some time off from boxing. He returned to the ring on August 19, 2017. He quickly knocked out Daniel Martz in the second round. He continued his comeback with more wins.
In December 2017, he knocked out Don Haynesworth. Then, in February 2018, he knocked out Akhror Muralimov. On April 28, 2018, he beat Joey Dawejko by unanimous decision.
Big Wins on His Return
On August 18, 2018, Jennings fought Alexander Dimitrenko. Jennings won this fight by technical knockout in the ninth round.
In his next fight, Jennings faced Oscar Rivas. Rivas was a highly ranked heavyweight boxer. Jennings fought well, but Rivas managed to knock him out in the final round.
After that, Jennings fought Joe Joyce. Joyce was also a strong boxer. Joyce won the fight by unanimous decision after 12 rounds.
